What International Women’s Day means to us
Agility Group is a group of companies providing vehicle finance and fleet management, H&S training and consultancy, occupational health screening and HR support.
Exactly half of the company comprise women (at the time of writing!), and here they are in all their various guises expressing what this day means to them:

Rhian Hawkings – Head of Marketing
This day is about celebrating everything that women achieve in the world, personally and in the workplace. The Duchess of Cambridge inspire me – she has such a global presence and is constantly in the public eye; something I would find extremely stressful, yet she always presents herself so elegantly, eloquently and with humility.
I have only recently joined Agility Group but I know my opinion counts, and I am valued for my contribution. I feel comfortable in senior meetings presenting mine and my team’s work to both male and female colleagues.

Sue Perry Holmes – Sales Executive, Agility Fleet and Agility Risk & Compliance
International Woman’s Day is about women who have successfully achieved in a very competitive workplace. Karen Brady is an inspirational woman to me; she was a Managing Director at a very young age for a football team!
I feel proud to be part of the Agility sales team, especially in Fleet, which has previously been perceived as a male focused industry.

Lucy Hay – Senior HR Advisor
International Woman’s Day is about supporting each other as strong and empowering women. A woman that really inspires me is American entrepreneur Whitney Wolfe Heard – she is a boss! American entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of publicly traded Bumble, Inc, and is a great example of empowering women and their rights.

Aimee Ward – Sales Executive, Agility Risk & Compliance
To me, this day is about celebrating and empowering women from all over the world for their success and continued accomplishments. All women inspire me, but since becoming a mother back in 2017, I have a new level of respect for all ‘working mums’ out there. Raising children and climbing a career ladder is a juggle, but it’s so inspiring to hear more women choose this option.
Here at Agility, women’s voices are no quieter than our male colleagues, and this is always shown in team discussions and meetings.

Jess Powell – Fleet Partner Relationship Manager
It highlights the incredible women who have fought to break the mold, and continue to pave the way for other women to do the same in achieving gender equality and their goals, no matter the obstacles. Kristin Hallenga is so inspiring to me; diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 23, due to her doctor dismissing a lump as hormonal, this led to a late diagnosis and her cancer being terminal. She set up the charity “CoppaFeel” to raise awareness of breast cancer checks, despite her own cancer battle.
Agility have always made me feel that my contribution is valued. I have been with them for almost 8 years and they have always encouraged me to grow within the business. Having a Female COO at Agility, within a traditionally male dominated fleet industry, is very empowering to see.

Rachel Smith – Head of Health & Safety
International Woman’s Day is about recognising, supporting and celebrating women. Many women inspire me, such as my colleagues, sisters and of course my mum! All of these women are strong and empowering women, who embrace challenges, have focus and direction, and can inspire and support those around them. The values within Agility Group; integrity, enthusiasm, and flexibility, are not just lip-service, but real, lived values, where achievements are celebrated, and as a woman provide a safe and supported environment to make a difference.

Liz Hotham – Business Development Manager, Agility Risk & Compliance
International Woman’s Day is about understanding the value women contribute, which is very important to me. My mum is an absolute inspiration to me because she is kind respectful and loving, and fills me with the desire to do something worthwhile in my life. At Agility we work as a big team and we are valued for what we contribute as women, which motivates me daily.

Sally Francis – Assistant Accountant
It’s a time for all of us strong, independent, determined woman to celebrate all of our achievements. Princess Diana is a women that inspires me. She was the much loved princess who showed strength and determination, an amazing mother and a true icon. My colleagues at Agility, both male and female, are very supportive. They value my opinion and work ethic and I am proud to be part of the Agility family!
